MobileX Marks the SpotMarch 03, 2010
Awesome Inc. is bringing their MobileX Conference to Columbus this Thursday, March 4th, to spread a little know-how in mobile technology. But what’s behind the scenes? Brian Raney, one of Awesome Inc. four co-founders out of Lexington, KY, shared his insight on the goals and impact of MobileX.
Brian discusses the theme, “There isn’t a lot of mobile tech activity going on in the Midwest …, which is a shame because there is a lot of potential in these cities to become hotbeds for high tech activity.” This is where MobileX comes in, with conferences ranging from Chicago to Nashville to Atlanta. MobileX’s goal is to inform communities of “what’s next” in mobile technology with conferences where IT Pros can build valuable relationships, increase their knowledge of mobile technology and have fun.
With 60+ events under their belt, Awesome Inc. is using their experience and past infrastructure to benefit the MobileX event series. Brian explained that building relationships with community organizers, entrepreneurs and others is aiding the launch of MobileX. Getting to know the new community is the biggest challenge of branching to new cities but he exclaimed that “every city has been exceptionally receptive and helpful in our efforts”. Connections with local tech groups like TechColumbus, CIDUG, Social Boomerang, Start Engaging Others, and IT Martini are helping make MobileX a success.
MobileX is impacting the IT Community by accelerating mobile technology, though Awesome Inc. isn’t stopping there. The team is investing much of their resources into their next big impact - Awesome Inc. Experience, a 12 week program for stage acceleration for mobile tech companies. Brian explains, “We believe that a critical component to building ecosystems for successful business to launch and grow is to build relationships among the relevant parties. In this case, the relevant parties are entrepreneurs, investors, developers, and enthusiasts that are excited about the potential of mobile technology.”
MobileX Conference is hitting Concourse Hotel and Conference Center near the airport from 9am – 5pm this Thursday March 4th. Noah Kagan, Bob Babcock and three local IT Pros, Willie Neumann, Jon Myers, and Chris Judd will be letting us know what’s up with mobile tech in Columbus and nationwide. An iPhone application workshop and an application idea contest are just a few other things to check out at MobileX.
