Expanding the Role of IT: Compellent Technologies

Behind every IT Martini event, there’s the IT Martini team hosting it, featured charities from YOUR Community, DEMOs reaching out for YOUR recognition, and sponsors – whose financial contributions make the event possible. Compellent Technologies participated in IT Martini Hour 10 in Columbus and IT Martini Hour 11 in Cleveland, helping raise a total of $3500 for local charities, and making Cleveland’s first-ever event a success. But where else is Compellent making an impact?

Compellent is a Minnesota-based B2B company providing virtualization solutions behind the scenes of companies like Munder’s Capital Management in Michigan and the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority in Chicago. Compellent’s Auto-Tier Virtualization Storage helped both companies optimize their storage organization for better storage capacity while virtualizing it. This allowed for infrastructure scaling, making on-demand expansion quick and easy. Munder’s liked the jump in processing speed, allowing customers faster processing times for in-depth analysis’ and trading.

Compellent is also jumping outside of the business and into YOUR Community, into public universities like OSU and the University of Northern Texas, along with non-profits like the UK’s Comic Relief. OSU was one of Compellent’s first clients, dipping into virtualization for the first time and finding a scalable and manageable infrastructure for the nearly 5,000 students and staff in the Fisher College of Business. Compellent even reaches overseas to the UK’s Comic Relief, to help them with their goals of expanding with limited physical storage space and to reduce their carbon footprint.

Many of the sponsors behind IT Martini work in Communities like YOURS, providing solutions that drive innovation in the corporate space, along with supporting the public sector and non-profits. Thanks again to Compellent – for supporting YOUR IT Community so generously!
